Summary:

Effective teaching of scientific enquiry is central to developing children’s ideas, skills, knowledge and understanding in science. You will be able to implement strategies for planning, resourcing and organising a range of types of enquiry in order to improve children’s outcomes.

Outcomes:

You will be able to:

  • demonstrate increased knowledge of progression in scientific enquiry
  •  implement a wide range of strategies for planning, resourcing and organising enquiry
  • appreciate the different types of enquiry children can engage in to explore the world around them

This is an all day course with lunch

  • Allie Beaumont
    Allie Beaumont is an independent primary science consultant who has extensive knowledge and experience of working within primary schools. She has led the Primary Professional Learning department for the STEM Learning centre within At-Bristol as well as being Deputy Director of the Science Learning Centre South West. She joined the centre from a post at a primary school in Plymouth where she was a science subject leader for over 12 years and latterly an Advanced Skills Teacher in science, working in Plymouth LEA.

If delegates are driving to the Centre we advise parking at Swindon Football Ground (SatNav SN1 2ED), a 5 minute walk away. Duration Charge from 1 April 2018 Up to 2 hours - £0.50 2-6 hours - £2.50 6-24 hours - £4.00 Do not park in the Merlin pub car park as your car may be clamped. Please note that parking through the blue gates on Plymouth Street is for staff only
