Wednesday 9th October 2019

Session 2: Building Learning Power

Could your pupils:

  • Be better learners?
  • Have learning muscles they use any place at any time?
  • Be prepared for a lifetime of learning and discovery?

On this session we will take some time to think about the learning journey you have taken so far as an NQT and what you want your destination to be. Having secured your vision, together we will explore how to create a climate for learning which will empower you and your pupils.

Wednesday 13th November 2019

Session 3: Building Positive Learning Environments

In this session we will discuss how to create a positive learning environment in which children feel safe and want to learn. This will touch upon behaviour management and growth mindset also.

Wednesday 11th December 2019

Session 4: SEND – scaffolding support (No child left behind)

Led by the staff who specialise in supporting pupils with a variety of special needs, this course will look at practical ways to support SEND pupils in mainstream classrooms.

We will also discuss the challenges that we can face when planning for a range of abilities and needs within a class. We will explore effective ways to scaffold learning to ensure that all children make progress in a lesson.

Session 5: Supporting EAL pupils in the classroom

This session will focus on how to integrate proven teaching techniques into every lesson to support the needs of EAL pupils and improve their understanding and attainment.
